Mustaghath: 2001AD

The word “Mustaghath” adds up to the value 2001 and refers to the prophesied date 2001 AD.

In Arabic and Persian (like Hebrew and Greek) all the letters have number correspondences. A = 1, B = 2, etc, and thus all the words in those languages have numerical values.

This date – 2001 AD – Mustaghath – was given by the Bab and was confirmed by Baha'u'llah. In “The Basic Baha’i Dictionary” article “Mustaghath” it not only gives the numerical value of 2001, but also states that this is the time for the advent of the promised one. In Baha’u’llah’s epistles He clarifies that this promised one is to come in the future after him in fulfillment of His own Covenant and swears “fealty” unto him.

Mustaghath -- He Who Is Invoked. A reference to the appearance of the Promised One at the time specified by the Bab. The Bab had set the limit of time for the coming of the Promised One as Mustaghath, the numerical value of which, in the abjad system, is 2001.
(Wendi Momens, The Basic Baha'i Dictionary, p. 166)

In reality therefore it refers to Baha'u'llah, Him being the Root, and His genealogy, that being the Branch, the Branch of David, that comes forth from the Ancient Root. In other words, in the year 2001 AD, the reality of Baha'u'llah (Davidic) appears in the Western world, in the United States, where the True Universal House of Justice is established.

Mustaghath, 2001, refers to that prophesied time, given by both the Bab and Baha'u'llah and their writings. And that time is the date 2001 AD. This is explicit. It is not subject to interpretation. It is the year 2001 AD.

Nowhere in the explicit writings of the Bab, Baha'u'llah, or 'Abdu'l-Baha or Shoghi Effendi does it state that mustaghath refers to a manifestation coming with a revelation direct from God to supersede the Revelation of Baha'u'llah. Baha'u'llah is clear in the Kitab-i-Ahd that no manifestation shall come for at least 1000 years. Thus the Promised One in Mustaghath 2001 refers to the Davidic Kingship by which we can recognize the true Universal House of Justice of Baha'u'llah's from fakes frauds and imitations.

The time of Mustaghath, which is clearly 2001 AD, cannot be a reference to a manifestation with a revelation direct from God, for in the explicit text of the Covenant it is clearly written that no such manifestation with a revelation direct from God will come for at least a thousand years.

Whoso Layeth Claim to a Revelation

Whoso layeth claim to a Revelation direct from God, ere the expiration of a full thousand years, such a man is assuredly a lying impostor. We pray God that He may graciously assist him to retract and repudiate such claim. Should he repent, God will, no doubt, forgive him. If, however, he persisteth in his error, God will, assuredly, send down one who will deal mercilessly with him. Terrible, indeed, is God in punishing! Whosoever interpreteth this verse otherwise than its obvious meaning is deprived of the Spirit of God and of His mercy which encompasseth all created things. Fear God, and follow not your idle fancies. Nay, rather, follow the bidding of your Lord, the Almighty, the All-Wise.
(Baha'u'llah: Kitab-i-Ahd, cited from Baha'i World Faith, p. 211)

In fact, in the Gleanings, Baha'u'llah Himself explains that the person to come is another other than Himself, for He says that He, Baha'u'llah, the Primary Mirror, gives fealty unto him, the secondary mirror, who is this other person.

Fealty in the dictionary means:

"Fealty, n. [O.Fr. fealte, feaute, fealty, from L. fidelitas, faithfulness, fidelity; it is thus the same world as fidelity.] Faithfulness of any person to another; Faith." (The Consolidated-Webster Encyclopedic Dictionary, Chicago : 1958, p. 276)

Baha'u'llah goes on to explain that this person is a servant and not a manifestation with a revelation direct from God, as He states that this person and those who appear at that date, 2001, with him, as his companions, are "secondary mirrors" reflecting the light of the Primary Mirror, which is none other than Baha'u'llah Himself. In other words, these ones are all Baha'is. Baha'u'llah writes:

XXX. God witnesseth that there is no God but Him, the Gracious, the Best-Beloved. All grace and bounty are His. To whomsoever He will He giveth whatsoever is His wish. He, verily, is the All-Powerful, the Almighty, the Help in Peril, the Self-Subsisting. We, verily, believe in Him Who, in the person of the Bab, hath been sent down by the Will of the one true God, the King of Kings, the All-Praised. We, moreover, swear fealty to the One [I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH Zech. 3:8, KJV] Who, in the time of Mustaghath [2001 AD], is destined to be made manifest [secondary mirror, my servant, The BRANCH], as well as to those [Manifestations Who are Primary Mirrors] Who shall come after Him till the end that hath no end. We recognize in the manifestation of each one of them [the Primary Mirrors], whether outwardly or inwardly, the manifestation of none but God Himself, if ye be of those that comprehend. Every one of them is a mirror of God, reflecting naught else but His Self, His Beauty, His Might and Glory, if ye will understand. ALL ELSE BESIDES THEM are to be regarded as mirrors [secondary] capable of reflecting the glory of these Manifestations Who are themselves the Primary Mirrors of the Divine Being, if ye be not devoid of understanding. No one hath ever escaped them [the Primary and secondary mirrors], neither are they to be hindered from achieving their purpose [my servant, the Branch and his companions in 2001 AD]. These Mirrors [Primary and secondary, etc…] will everlastingly succeed each other, and will continue to reflect the light of the Ancient of Days. They that reflect their glory will, in like manner, continue to exist for evermore, for the Grace of God can never cease from flowing. This is a truth that none can disprove.
(Baha'u'llah: Gleanings, Pages: 73-74)

By Baha'u'llah's own Supreme Pen, He is speaking of the secondary mirrors or the believers in His own self. These are the guardian – Davidic King – and fellow 24 members – 24 elders – who form the head and body of the current UHJ.

Mustaghath refers to the year 2001 AD, which is an absolute fact.

When Baha'u'llah prophesied that his OWN GENEALOGY would be unfurled in the year 2001 AD, using the term the Bab used, mustaghath, some people thought that this would just be a chart that was made known. They should have had the foresight and the insight to see that by GENEALOGY is meant not only the chart that covers the past but also that the person living in the world today, the great grandson of 'Abdu'l-Baha from this lineage and throne-line (a Branch, a servant, from the root, Baha'u'llah, the Manifestation of God) that his identity would be revealed and made known.

The only Manifestation of God that Mustaghath refers to is Baha'u'llah, Himself. 'Abdu'l-Baha, Shoghi Effendi, and all the Aghsan guardians from the line of David are servants at His threshold.

"This is the foundation of the belief of the people of Baha (may my life be offered up for them): "His Holiness, the Exalted One (the Bab), is the Manifestation of the Unity and Oneness of God and the Forerunner of the Ancient Beauty. His Holiness the Abha Beauty (may my life be a sacrifice for His steadfast friends) is the Supreme Manifestation of God and the Dayspring of His Most Divine Essence. ALL OTHERS ARE SERVANTS UNTO HIM and do His bidding.""
(`Abdu'l-Baha: Will and Testament, Page: 19)

Thus God says: "I will bring forth my SERVANT, the BRANCH." (Zech. 3:8 KJV)

The Test of God remains the same, which He never deviates from, that is, He sends us a promised one. As all the guardians are promised in the everlasting Covenant God gave to David (see 2 Sam. 7:12, 13; Psalms 89) ALL the guardians are Promised Ones. They are Promised Ones in the everlasting Covenant. They are Promised Ones in the Lesser Covenant of God (Kitab-i-Ahd / W&T). And the current Guardian is also a Promised One in the Greater Covenant of God as well.

Baha'u'llah Himself swears fealty to His own great, great-grandson, as well as the entire line and lineage of David to come after Him, as servants in the Covenant, as well as the future Manifestations as well.

Someone has to be seated upon throne of David in every generation, and therefore have a mandate direct from God to fulfill a certain mission. Only those who are chosen by God can accept this.

"This is that which His Holiness Christ says: that from all the world they come and enter the Kingdom. And the children of the Kingdom shall be cast out." ('Abdu'l-Baha's Last Tablet to America, Baha'i World Faith, p. 438)

Thus the Promised One in Mustaghath 2001 refers to the Davidic Kingship by which we can recognize the true Universal House of Justice of Baha'u'llah's from fakes frauds and imitations. On September 21, 2001 AD God “Brought forth His servant BRANCH [Aghsan]” (Zech. 3:8 KJV), and the Universal faith of Baha'u'llah – the Kingdom – was announced to all the people of the world. Great is the blessedness of those that enter and find refuge therein!
